INTRODUCTION

The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) has introduced the first certificate level program in Rubber Technology since 2010. This program is being organized through Academy Hevea Malaysia which is the training arm of MRB. It is fully conducted at the venue of Academy Hevea Malaysia which is in Sungai Buloh, Selangor.

  • This program is conducted on a full-time basis for a period of 18 months (4 semesters) with an annual intake.
  • This program has been evaluated to be equivalent to level 3 (certificates) by virtue of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) by Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).

OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this program is to produce skilled personnel in the field of rubber technology. This is to meet the challenging needs of the work force in processing and product manufacturing sectors of the rubber industry.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Aged 18 to 45 years
  2. Passed SPM / Equivalent with at least
Credit in Malay Pass in English Pass in Mathematics One (1) CREDIT in any of the following subjects :
  1. Chemistry
  2. Physics
  3. Science
  • Candidates who are currently serving in the rubber-related industries are encouraged to apply.

INTAKE

  • Student recruitment sessions are conducted each year (subject to change).
  • Student recruitment advertisements will be posted through local newspapers as well as through official LGM social media website.

  • Our instructors, comprises of those with vast experience, related to respective rubber techology fields.

METHODOLOGY

  • The learning methodologies adapted are through lectures, tutorial, group discussions, practical hands – on at our laboratories, factory visits and Industrial attachment training at rubber related companies.
  • Student performance will be evaluated through tutorial / quiz / test activities and final examination.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

  • MRB offers an education loan/sponsorship to qualified students.
  • Students who have successfully graduated with a minimum CQPA of 3.00 and without extending their studies, stands a good chance of converting their educational loan to a scholarship.

CURRICULUM:

The curriculum of this program is specifically structured to encompass all aspects related to rubber technology, theory as well as practical.

On the last semester students will attend industrial attachment for 12 weeks at related rubber companies.
